An airship flying dangerously low.Initially my intentions were to paint with oils, so I began to sketch up some ideas on the computer first.... But - its soooo much easier on the computer (cutting things up... rubbing them out... etc), I got a bit carried away and didn’t bother.
last year I read a great kids book called Airborn, which just fuelled my fascination further for these fantastic beasts. I urge anyone who can get through Harry potter to pick this book up.

Great image! Lovely painting. We read 'Airborne' too and highly recommend it. We'll hear the authour Kenneth Oppel read from it at Harbourfront in Toronto this coming weekend. It'll be fun.
We had a fine time discussing bees, airships, and the like with Michael Schlingmann and Sharon Smith during their recent visit to T.O. Indeed, Michael has a fondness for airships! You must make him read the book!

THis is great painting! Love the mood ... Will have to check out that book you recommended. Run out of good books to read these days. :) Have you read Inkheart? It's a very good children chapter novel too. Very imaginative!!
I hadn’t, but just looked it up on Amazon... looks good. My book pile is growing fast , ill be sure to check it out in the future, I’m a sucker for kids books.
